Good Things Sunday

I feel like getting through this week took everything that I had to give and then some more. I’m all worn out. But, that’s even more reason to write a post. I began the habit years ago as a way of reminding myself that even though it can feel like everything really sucks…not everything actually does. So here are this week’s good things:

Day 171 by Lucky Jackson

+ Just so stoked on this portrait of young Bruce Springsteen by local embroidery babe Lucky Jackson. I can take or leave the new Springsteen record. It’s gotta be tough to stay relevant when you get rich writing songs about how tough it is to be broke. But, I admit it, I have such a boner for young Bruce. In fact, he’s actually the person I’m eyeing in the photo I use on this site. See? We have killer chemistry obviously:

Young Bruce and me hanging out at Sympathy for the Rebel.

+ Lots of outta town visitors. Mom & Kristie & Holly & Jonas & Sylvie & I’m sure even more than that.

+ This upcoming week I should be able to cook food in my own house again! A little kitchen spring cleaning is in order & then a fresh start in there. I’m so ready.

+ I really did start working on my first-ever sweater. It’s pretty much all I’m thinking about. I knit the gauge swatch today & tomorrow I am gonna wash it & then I am gonna actually cast on. Even though I have made many things this year and even started a summer knitting group, I feel like you’re not “really” a knitter until you’ve made a sweater. I’m excited!

+ Spent a lot of time catching up on my Ravelry friends page. You all make such beautiful things. If you wanna be Rav friends you can find me here. There are so many things I need to photograph and post, still.

+ Friends who drop off snacks for me when I am working. You rule, Bridget and Steph!

+ Spent Tuesday night at knitting group and then at Jos Fortin‘s CD release show. So many great people in such a mellow space. Such nice songs.

+ Watching TV while in the bathtub. Is there a better way to relax? No, no there is not. Maybe I will do more of that right now…
