Today I spent nearly five! hours at Bloodline Parlour getting my hair done. I spent most of the time telling jokes with Rebecca, eating cookies, & reading the big spring issues of fancy fashion magazines. I don’t often read these because, frankly, the best images end up on tumblr. Judging by the 2012 collections I’ve seen so far, my personal taste & what’s in fashion are cosmically aligned, so I was more interested than usual.

I think my favourite thing was the photos of Susan Sarandon in the “Art of Fashion” shoot she did with her daughter, Eva Amurri Martino for Neiman Marcus. Of course, Martino is totally a pretty, skinny, white girl wearing beautiful designer clothes. But there is just something about Susan Sarandon’s “sexier every year” approach to aging that makes me feel so happy for her.

Sarandon is rockin' this Lanvin pantsuit with a much curvier, happier vibe than at the runway show.

I certainly won’t argue that a photo of an older skinny white woman will change the world, but I still feel so good about this image. Sarandon looks like she is thinking about a great meal or a great fuck. You go!

After seeing this pantsuit again in the sartorially awesome but racist-ly named “Vision Quest” editorial inside the March issue of Vogue, I began to seriously covet it.
